pravin.p.badade
Hi,
I am Pravin, was working with one MNC since last three & half year. At the timing of joining I was doing my graduation & I was hired because of my computer skills.
After joining, because of curiosity & willing to learn I was taking every work as an opportunity of learning. Meanwhile I got mastery in Time office, Payroll, Legal compliance of Trade Apprentices, Provident Fund, Contract Labor, Travel Administration, Canteen, Security, HK Administration & recruitments of trainee technicians.
But after three & half year I was fired because I didn't have Post Graduation. Now I am taking an admission for MPM.
I just want to know from seniors that only degree is important??? Online experience is not matter???
Waiting for UR valuable Reply!!!
Thanking U

Hi Pravin,
Dont get disheartened, I know that you have got a very good experience but still at the end of the day degree also matters a lot. In today's scenario all companies are looking forward for professionally qualified people.
Its really good that now you have applied for Post Graduation. After completing that whenever you will apply for a job, you will surely get an advantage of your previous experience along with your degree.
Wish u a very good luck,
Thanks & Regards,

Hello Pravin,
I agree with Ruchi.
You REALLY have a good BREADTH of exp.
But quite often it becomes difficult for companies to differentiate between the breadth & the depth of exp...this is where the addl degree [or the lack of it] comes into picture.
Like quite a few people have realised, recession is the best time to pursue addl education. Go ahead and do it...and you can be sure of getting a much better role after you complete it.
Or maybe you can join some other job, and pursue the PG thru evening/correspondence courses.
All the BEST.

Dear Pravin,

Post Graduation is important to enter into good job. Now-a-days each and every organization wants highly qualified professional to reduce wastages. As you have rich experience but not a Professional Qualification to utilize it upto maximum.

Your experience is as similar to the knowledge and intelligence of the student but Post Graduation (Professional Qualification) play a role of Identity card to sit in the examination. No matter how much intelligent the student is, may be he/she will become the toper but Identity Card for sitting the examination is too much necessary.

Hope you understand – finish your Post Graduation and utilize your experience upto your level best

Hi guys,:-D
Its true one should have a PG qualification .But i have
seen many people working as HR managers just on the
basis on experience and capability.
Experience can not be substitute for anything.
I feel in case of Pravin the company would have asked
him to go for a PG course while working with them.Even
the companies help monetarliy to employees for persuing
higher education. Firing an experienced ,sincere and
a performing employee just because he dont have the
PG is foolishness i feel.

Hi,
Pravin, I m also agree with rajeev he is absolutely right.
I personally feel that u should apply for the job in the HR field n side by side u can do correspondence and evening courses like P.G diploma in HR, MBA in HRM or MPM . After taking admission in it u can mention in resume that u r doing this course and it will defenitely help u to get a good job.

Hi ,
Why do Companies Look out for Professional Qualification Like MBA , that to from good B School Preferable full time.
I have headed a region for group company of HSBC. My reasoning was simple .Experiance matters but the sort of exposure u get in MBA(if u real apply u r self) is tremendous. Organisations look out for people who can work on a ny function ,,and MBA exposure to all the Functions. It is not that MBA is Licensee for growth ,,but it will be a catalyst in u r growth.
Once u enter a middle level Management u would be competing with the best with Professional qualifications ..so important to have qualification.

Even if there wasn't a requirement for a degree, the fact is that there are a lot of people out there with whom you are competing who have a degree or even a master's degree, who have years of experience and who even might have many certification. You may have the experience, but experience plus education will trump your credentials.

Dear Parvin,
Qulification and experience are like our two eyes.....If some one ask u which eye is important.....what we will answer.....?
Both are interdependent and parallely important

Hey let me tell u. Please dont seggregate like - Degree or experience?

Its the appliation of what you have learnt, that ounts in work.
Not everything u can gain from experience can be gained thru books.
Neither will what books help u with can be done away with when it comes to applying what we have learnt at work / on the job.

I know many ppl who have a professional degree..but are worth "nothing" when it come to application of that knowledge on work.
I know ppl - who have professional degree and are really a great asset for the employer. (they combine both books and logical thinking)
I know ppl who dont have a professional degree - but are exceptional and experts in their field. U see...experience has a wider reach within!

But when it comes to the job market - ppl with professional degree and experience are PRICEY! COSTLY!

and ppl with experience and no professional degree, lack that advantage.

This is the time u can improve ur skills.
Two options: Apply for a full time course
Or
Apply for a part time and also work during the available free time! It will be very helpful

:-) time is all urs...decision is all urs :-) Life is all urs :-)
We watch u play, we clap hands when u succeed, we pat when u need encouragement. CiteHR will be there to guide u.!

Take care!
