Seeking Advice: Best Ways to Allocate Social Service Funds for Maximum Impact?

Hello Seniors,

I am working as an HR Executive in a Private Company. Recently, our Management has decided to form a Committee for Social Service activities and have released some funds for this activity. Now, I have to find the areas where I can efficiently use the sponsored funds and report the same to the Management. I request seniors to suggest me the areas (for example: ISKCON - Akshayapatra, old age, etc.) where I can make the right use of these funds so that the needy are served.

First, you must search for a charity organization that runs an orphanage in your city. Children need more care and resources for their upbringing. Supporting organizations that cater to handicapped individuals is also a commendable act of charity. This is true charity. Instead of investing in architecture or construction projects, consider directing resources towards those in need of care. Your organization can also contribute funds to organizations like UNICEF.

It's very nice to know that your management has thoughts on social responsibilities.

I would suggest that helping aid to charity is a first step in joining hands for social responsibility. It could be for an orphanage, old age home, handicapped individuals, etc. Also, identifying needy students to support their education or needy aged persons to take care of their old age could be other options. All of this depends on how much time we can dedicate to these causes.

Whatever you choose, I suggest that we should not just stop at donating. We should also follow up on the same by involving voluntary employees. This might also motivate employees to form a small group and work towards these goals.

Nice to know that your management has allocated funds for CSR. I agree with Anu's opinions. What I would like to suggest, apart from approaching homes, is to think of initiatives or campaigns to raise awareness or help those in need. For example, I know organizations that use funds to support the blind, such as helping them in education, arranging for candidates to write exams for them, and campaigning for eye drops, among other things. You can involve your own employees in these activities. Similarly, there are opportunities to contribute to education, maintain cleanliness in the city, raise funds for natural calamities, support causes like AIDS, TB, cancer, orphanages, elderly care, promote green initiatives, and work towards a pollution-free environment.
