Is It Normal for Outsourcing Agencies to Withhold Employee Details in ESI & PF Challans?

My outsourcing agency denied providing me with the employee-wise details in the ESI & PF Challan that they send me on a monthly basis. Instead, they provide a summary of the ESI & PF Challan, which includes information about Employer Code and the employer's contribution towards the payments made.

The reason they cited is that they cannot provide me with the employee list as it contains the names of all the employees they have hired for other companies.

I would like to clarify whether the summary sheet is an authentic document for my company or if a company needs to have the employee list for which the ESI & PF Challan is submitted. If not, how can I obtain the employee list for whom the PF & ESI Challan is submitted?

Dear Rakhee,

Either you are not an HR personnel or do not know about PF & ESI challans. Basically, your outsourcing personnel are right. From the challans, you cannot get any detail. These outsourcing personnel are making a lot of adjustments that you may not understand.

Just ask them for the ESI code details of each employee and a photocopy of the ESI Card. Regarding PF, obtain the PF number of each employee. Complete details can only be obtained from half-yearly/yearly returns.
