Facing Sales Slump: How Infosys Encourages Employees to Save $10 Each for Big Impact

M.Peer Mohamed Sardhar
Grappling with falling sales and a dropping bottom line, companies have had no alternative but to put cost-cutting measures in place.

Here are some of the measures that one of India's most valued and most respected companies, Infosys Technologies, has implemented.

Save $10
It is asking all its employees to go in for a one-time cost savings of $10 each. This initiative is expected to help the company, which has over 100,000 people on its rolls, to log a cost saving of $1 million (around Rs 5 crore).

Hi,

It would be really nice if you could "COPY - PASTE" the article instead of providing links because my company doesn't allow access to many sites. I am sure some of the Citehr members will have the same concern.

Hi Peer,

I am an ex-Infosys employee. Infosys is cutting transportation for all employees. They follow strict rules for transportation and avoid night shifts. Infosys has also banned contract employees. They are maintaining reserve bench strength and hiring campus students at low salaries.

Sometimes, copying and pasting can cause problems. Firstly, it violates copyright laws if permission has not been obtained. Secondly, if everyone were to copy and paste, it could consume excessive memory and potentially slow down the system. I am not an IT expert and am open to corrections.
