How to Handle Confidentiality in a Project Report Without Naming the Company?

scorpio
Hi All,

I need help. I'm currently pursuing the last semester of MMS. I am planning to do my final year project in PMS. I have collected data for the project from a Pharmaceutical Company. The issue is, the manager asked me to keep the company name confidential. If I am preparing a project report, is it okay not to mention the company name?

I don't understand how to proceed with this.

Waiting for replies.

Hello Neeta,

If the person who has given you the data is asking you to keep the name of the company confidential, in my opinion, it should be respected. You could mention in your report accordingly. What does your project guide say?

You should keep the company name confidential. Just mention in your project, "A leading pharmaceutical company specialized in ...."

Suresh & Ash,

Thanks for replying. I perfectly understand and respect that he doesn't wish to share the company name. I just want to know if it is okay to prepare the project report without the company details. My project guide says that it will be more of a case study. Please suggest.

I want to upload a questionnaire. I've tried doing it many times but keep getting errors when uploading it. Can someone suggest if there is another way to upload a Word document?

Hi Neeta,

It is absolutely fine not to mention the name of the company in the project report. You could mention that "Due to the nature of the business, certain information of confidential nature has not been mentioned, but the purpose of the project has not been affected because of the same."

Just provide:
Name of the company: Confidential.
A "$" company specialized in...
You could provide an ambiguous profile without the name but with the nature of the business.

Again - the answer to your query - IT'S ABSOLUTELY FINE TO DO SO.

Hey Ash! You've been doing a pretty good job. I have been going through a few of your posts off late. I must say, keep up the good work and help all of us learn more! Thanks and keep posting!

Dear Neeta,

It is a must that you keep the company name confidential as a sign of respect for your manager and to ensure a productive project work without tarnishing your name and your college's reputation at the pharmaceutical company.

You can title your project as "A Study on PMS in a Leading Pharma Company."

In the project presentation or Viva Voice, you can include a bottom line stating, "Certain information is kept confidential as per management's request, which does not impede the purpose of the project work."

You can directly upload the questionnaire from your profile.

Wishing you success with your project report.

Dear Neeta,

When working on a project, you do not need to include the name of the company. Simply utilize the data provided and share the end result.

Thank you.
