Can I Withdraw My Previous Employer's PF While My Current Job Doesn't Deduct It?

nandini_agarkar@rediffmai
Hello all,

I have worked for 8 months in one organization where the PF was deducted. Currently I'm working with another organization, and no PF is deducted till six months. Can I withdraw my PF which was deducted by my previous employer? Please guide.

Hi Nandini,

If in your current organization PF facility is not available, it means you can't transfer your PF amount into the same. So, I advise you to just apply for the PF withdrawal, as that would be better.

Dear,

You should approach your previous office with Form 19 and 10C of PF for withdrawal. Your previous employer will fill out that form and hand it over to you, and then you should deposit it in the PF office.

Thank you.

Dear All,

One of my friends was working for a reputed organization for 2 years, and she left the job 12 months ago. She hasn't claimed the PF yet. Is there a maximum time limit for claiming the withdrawal of the PF amount?

Requesting your valuable suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Madam,

This is in reference to the subject mentioned above. You can withdraw your accumulations after the completion of a 60-day grace period from the date of resignation. You need to submit Form 19 & 10C at the respective office to withdraw the amount that is in your account with the PF Department. The PF Department will directly credit the amount to your Savings Bank Account within 30 days from the date of submission of the Claim forms.

Hi to all,

Is it necessary that we withdraw PF amount through our previous employer? One of my friends left his company 6 months back. In his current organization, there is no PF deduction. He has called so many times to his previous employer for PF withdrawal, but nothing has happened till now. What does he have to do now?

Needs suggestions.

Hi,

How long does it take for the transfer of a PF account from one state to another after applying? Is there a website or email address to track the ongoing process? Moreover, how can one know once the transfer has taken place?

Thanks, expecting a quick response.

Hello, I was working in a company, and due to so much harassment made to me, I came out from the company one day informing them that I will not be working for them. Am I eligible for claiming PF through that company?

Hi Nandini,

Approach your previous employer with Form 19 and 10C. Submit it to the local PF office after it is properly filled out by both your employer and yourself.

Dear Friends,

Please help me in this regard. I am working as an HR Officer in a Korean Company in Chennai. I would like to know how to calculate the salary if a contract worker works on Sunday and one compensatory day off will be given in the same week. Should I pay double wages for Sunday work or just a single pay?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Geetha,

If you worked with your previous company for more than 6 months, then you have to submit both Form 19 and Form 10C; otherwise, only Form 19 is sufficient to get your PF amount.

Form 19 - To withdraw your PF Amount.
Form 10C - To withdraw your Pension Amount. (You should have worked at least 6 months with that company; then only you will be eligible to get your pension amount).

Hi Merajib,

We can't say the exact duration for the PF transfer. Even you cannot see the process online. In case you have applied for closure, you can check the status online through the [Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, Regional Office, Chennai Region & Puducherry](http://www.epfochennai.tn.nic.in/) website (this site is only for TN). Websites will differ from state to state.

Dear Friends,

After reading this topic, I couldn't stop myself from writing. One of my friends used to work with me in a US-based call center in Mumbai. She left around 3.5 years ago but did not claim her PF. Can she complete the formalities now?

Thank you.

Hi Dharshana,

Yes, she can claim now. She has to submit the Form 19 & 10C to the PF office, which is filled out by her previous employer.

If the salary is below 10k, then the ESI Form is to be filled, followed by the PF form, bank form, application form if it remains, leave card, gratuity form, etc.

At the time of leaving, the exit interview form will be filled.

Thanks,
Mili

Transferring PF is not a problem since it's not you doing it. You have to give your new employer the PF number of your previous company. But withdrawing, as rightly mentioned, takes a toll on us. I have some bitter experiences, but I managed to get it somehow. In case you have problems withdrawing, please contact your nearest PF commissioner. He/She might really be helpful. It's my general opinion, but it really works.

Hi,

It's like if you have completed 10 years - YEARS, then you become eligible for a pension, and you are not allowed to withdraw the entire PF credited to your account. The pension will only start after you attain the age of 58 years.

So, it's better to withdraw the PF and invest it for higher returns. As you know, PF earns interest at 8.50% p.a. as per the current rate.

Withdraw and invest, but please don't spend. You have to remember the Hindi title of PF - Bhavishya Nirvah Nidhi. Instead of the PF Authority, you will be investing funds for your future.

Dear Jyotsana,

All that is needed to be done by your friend now is to go to her previous employer along with Form 19 and 10C and get it filled and stamped by them and later submit it in the PF office. In case your friend doesn't withdraw that amount, it's not going to give her any additional benefits.

Thanks

Hi Rajasekar,

As I have stated in my email, I have transferred to my existing company from my previous company. How will I come to know that the transfer has taken place? Does the PF Office send any letter to the applicant or any kind of notification? Moreover, can you send me the link to check for Andhra Pradesh? I tried <link no longer exists - removed> but it didn't work.

Thanks in advance.
