How Do I Create Effective HR Policies and a Code of Conduct for Employee Well-being?

Joyee
Dear Seniors,

I am Joyee, associated with a growing organization as an Assistant Manager - HR in the non-banking financial sector. I have been tasked with submitting new policies and a code of conduct for the betterment of the employees. Could you all suggest how to design and create HR policies and a code of conduct?

Please help me out.

Thank you.

Joyee,

The question you have asked is really wide for answers to fit here. I would suggest you to:

1) Get hold of any good HR textbook by an Indian author.
2) Do some googling about the same.

The information you should have provided was the number of employees in your organization. Before the policies are in place, you would need to design a basic framework about the:
1) Leaves (the types, the duration, etc., you want)
2) Performance appraisals
3) Work hours
4) Benefits
5) Recruitments, transfers, deputation, separation, etc. (check the textbook)

The Code of Conduct (COC):

Will be a basic set of dos and don'ts, this again a general set of guidelines (say hours of work, ethics, business conduct, dress code, acceptable and unacceptable behaviors, use of office stationery and phones, holidays, etc).

Note: it is very important to keep the senior management (hopefully your boss) in the loop as they will be the ones who will have the final say in the yes or no or 'this is the right thing' in your organization.

Hope this is useful.

Hi,

Here is one I used as a sample reference for preparing my company's HR policies. Create one that suits your needs. Not everything may fit in. Good luck!
