Revised Profession Tax Slab in Karnataka: Key Changes and Thresholds

With effect from 01.04.2009 onwards, the State Government of Karnataka has announced an enhanced ceiling limit of the professional tax from Rs. 5,000/- to Rs. 10,000/-.

As per this, whoever is receiving gross wages up to Rs. 10,000/- need not pay or deduct the professional tax from their salary. The revised professional tax slab in Karnataka is as follows:

From Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 15,000/- --------- Rs. 150/-

Above Rs. 15,000/- ------------------- Rs. 200/-

There are only two slabs in Karnataka, and it is applicable across the state.
