With effect from 01.04.2009 onwards the State Government of Karnataka has announced enhanced that the ceiling limit of the professional tax from Rs. 5,000/- to 10,000/-.
As per this who ever is getting the gross wages up to Rs. 10,000/- need not to pay / deduct the professional tax from their salary. The revised PT slab in Karnataka is as follows:
From Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 15,000/- --------- Rs. 150/-
Above 15,000/- ------------------- Rs. 200/-
There are only two slabs in Karnataka. It is applicable across the state.
