Hello,

I need a form for employee review :icon6:. Can I get it from any of you there on citehr?

Hi JP,

We are sailing in the same boat. I would suggest starting by preparing the KRAs and KRIs (Key Responsible Areas and Key Indicators) because this will help make the performance appraisal more objective than subjective. If this is reviewed quarterly, you can have a general appraisal at the end of the year based on the results of achieving the KRAs. First, prepare the job description. Be clear with responsibilities. From the responsibilities, derive the KRAs and KRIs. Then prepare the annual performance appraisal sheet.

Dear Friends,

This topic has been discussed many times on CiteHR. Go to the Download box at the top of the page and type in "performance appraisal" or other terms as appropriate, i.e., KRA, etc. Everything you need is already here on this site. Search FIRST, ask SECOND.

Good one, John in OZ!

Might as well tell them something about planning and executing performance appraisals.

JP / Swati,

Why don't you first give us some details about the existing system of appraisals (if any), and we can tell you about the best possible manner (as per our individual opinions) in which you can conduct the performance appraisals.

Thanks

Dear all,

Many a time it is seen in this forum that career aspirants in any field, be it in HR, Sales, or Accounts, want a quick fix or shortcut in the form of downloading a particular format or details for their queries, issues, or problems. In simple words, they use this site as an instant problem solver or ready reckoner. In this process, where is the scope for learning and growth? Over time, without applying their minds, they tend to ask for answers or solutions to any issue.

In this chain, they also get sidelined without good interpersonal relationships among their colleagues. Yet, they boast that they have accomplished it, only to develop a short-sighted approach or tunnel vision.

Our colleagues willingly share their information without much thought (if it is genuine and original thinking).

It would be more appropriate for career aspirants, especially newcomers, to think, refer to books, and come up with their original ideas and innovative approaches to any issue. Engage in personal discussions, healthy debates, take some initiatives, review previous incidents, files, and form impressions in their own setups.

All the best,

Management Information Resources Auditors.

V. Rangarajan.

Hi Rangarajan,

I agree with what you are trying to say here. "Just cut, copy, paste would not be beneficial or improve the scope of learning".

But let's see it this way - people may not use the forms or documents as the ultimate resource to serve their purpose. For helping you understand this much better - I do a lot of research and see how various companies practice it, and then create one suiting my company's needs. It's not just mere cut, copy, paste.

And if you ask why not go to books - I would say, books don't help you understand the practical implementation.

Practical implementation knowledge happens by sharing and experiencing. So, no harm in people sharing documents. No one is going to use the exact form - it's just learning from others, and trying to incorporate a better model that suits us. This helps a lot in making us think - how to create a better one.

This does not mean that I disagree with your statements - it's just that there are a few who make use of their own mind and creative talent. And also a few - who simply don't think, or I would say "Afraid to think" (they would fall into the category of people of what you have explained above).

"A person who asks will be a fool for 5 minutes, but a person who never asks - remains a fool forever".
