Understanding Form 11: Do Employees with Basic Pay Over 6500 Need to Fill It Out?

Hi, I would like to know what the purpose of Form 11 is. I came across a few posts on this but could not gather a definite conclusion.

Currently, only those employees whose basic is less than 6500 are covered under PF in my organization. Does Form 11 need to be filled by existing employees whose basic is more than 6500 also, irrespective of whether they had PF in their previous organizations or not?

If yes, then does signing Form 11 mean that the employee is giving a declaration that their basic is above 6500 and they voluntarily do not want to opt for PF?

It is a declaration by a person taking up employment in an establishment in which the Employees' Provident Fund and Family Pension Fund Scheme are in force.

It doesn't mean he can opt out of PF. As I said earlier, it is a simple declaration made by the employee about his previous employment (that he was a member of PF or not).

See, if he has a salary more than 6500 there, he will remain a member of PF with your organization if he hasn't withdrawn his PF.

Eligibility for Filling Form 11 in PF

Can anyone kindly let me know if Form 11 in PF is to be filled out in the following situations:

1. Suppose a new employee has recently joined our organization but has not withdrawn his earlier PF and still wishes to claim PF exemption in the present company (our organization). Is he eligible to make a declaration in Form 11?

2. Secondly, if a fresher has joined a company and wishes to exempt himself from being a member of PF by filling out Form 11 (with a salary exceeding ₹6,500). Is he eligible to make a declaration in Form 11?

Hello All, My question is a little different from the topic here but still related to PF & ESIC. I just did not want to create another thread.

Recruitment of Engineers as Trainees

My company is covered under both PF & ESIC. I am recruiting engineers as Trainees, and for at least 6 months, they will be under probation. During this 6-month period, I do not want them to be covered under PF or ESIC. Is it possible? The issue is that most of the time the candidate vanishes after a few days or a month, rendering all the procedures done a waste. How can this be managed effectively?
