anusha.tuli@maspar.in
Hi Everyone,

Could you please provide me with some insights on the documents/registers, etc., that one needs to maintain in a retail store to comply with regulations?

Thanks and regards,

Dear Anshu,

First of all, any shop "or retail shop/outlet falls under the Shop and Establishment Act. So please follow the state Shop and Establishment Act. It is mentioned in the Shop Act which registers need to be maintained, and abstract of labor laws:
- Payment of wages
- Payment of Gratuity Act
- Payment of Bonus Act
- Maternity Benefit Act
etc.
ESIC and PF records as well. If I missed something, consider me an imperfect human being.

The Shop and Establishment Act stays the same in all states - right? Are there any regional differences?

Dear,

It is almost the same in every state, but some minor changes make huge differences. So, I advise you to follow your state shop act.
