I don't think that a notice period format is required to be given to the employee who is serving the notice period. For this, check the appointment letter; there must be a clause written regarding the notice period. If not, please make an amendment in the appointment letter and add a clause regarding the notice period.
Please review the attached notice pay certificate to determine if it is useful for relieving employees. They may need it to claim the same from the new employer. Another option is to have the notice pay deduction in full and final settlement.
