Resigned Without Notice Period: Can I Demand My Last Month's Salary Now?

yk_srk
Dear All,

I was offered an internship by a private limited company. I accepted the offer and was confirmed as a permanent employee after two months of training. However, I have resigned last week, and neither the offer letter for the internship nor the confirmation letter mentions a notice period to be served. After resigning, the management is holding my pay, saying it would be paid along with the notice period pay that is with the full and final settlement. Also, I have been told that an intern is not allowed paid leave, and the leaves taken during the internship period will be adjusted in my full and final settlement. I haven't taken any loan, nor is any other payment due to the company on my part.

Please advise on how to proceed further. Can I press them to pay my last month's salary and relieve me from duty with immediate effect?

Warm Regards,
XYZ

Dear Vipin,

It is truly unethical. You made a big mistake. You should consider yourself lucky that you get permanent in no time while people take years for the same but end up losing it. On top of that, you don't have any testimonial of the internship. That is not great. Dude, you should possess a document pertaining to your internship to make a claim; otherwise, you can't demand compensation. Hard luck! You can't do anything in this regard. Forget it and look forward to your career. Opportunities are ample. Best of luck for your future.

Regards, Vipin

I have been working with a company for the last 8 months and I have signed a bond of 2 years with the same. However, they are allowing to release the bond provided you have some genuine reason. Now, I have a backbone compression and I am not allowed to sit for long hours. Will it be a genuine reason, considering that I have a medical slip (not certificate) by a doctor.

Kindly help
