Can anybody shed light on the Sexual Harassment Committee? Is it necessary to have a Sexual Harassment committee in every company?

Since there is no law in this regard, certain guidelines and rules are there as per SC Complaints Committee needs to be constituted in a company where women employees are working, it seems. As per my knowledge, if you are not able to form a committee, at least you should have a Sexual Harassment policy.

As per my knowledge, it is a good thing to have such a committee in an IT Company to improve and maintain a good quality of work life for female employees and ensure their security too.

Hi Ruchi,

All companies which have a "harassment policy" as a part of the Corporate policy manual need to have a committee in place. Also, there are some guidelines on the constitution of these committees.

Dear Ruchi,

As per the guidance of the Supreme Court, every company should have a prevention of sexual harassment policy. The Supreme Court has provided guidelines in this regard.

Any registered organization with 10 or more employees is mandated to have a sexual harassment policy as well as a sexual harassment internal complaints committee. Please refer to the government ruling on this: https://www.citehr.com/attachments/1...tion-redressal

There are even specific guidelines on the members of the ICC.
