How Do I Analyze Employee Satisfaction Survey Data Using a 5-Point Likert Scale? Seeking Advice from Experienced HR Professionals

pmon
Hello, I am currently pursuing an MBA in HR, specifically in the 3rd semester. My project revolves around the topic of Employee Satisfaction Survey. I am seeking advice from experienced individuals on how to analyze the data after its collection and which statistical procedures to utilize.

My questionnaire is structured around a 5-point Likert scale. I would greatly appreciate any guidance on this matter. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Pmon,

Have you selected the industry you want to target for your project? Each industry will have significant differences in terms of employee satisfaction. Please address this in your plan and begin your project. It would be beneficial to visit the company once you have obtained permission to enter before commencing the project work.

Firstly, identify the dimensions of satisfaction and their corresponding questions.

Secondly, prepare either frequency tables or cross tables for each of them. In case of cross tables, take one independent variable like type of employee (managerial and worker) that could be crosstabulated with all satisfaction-related questions. That's it. In case of any problems, send me the questions and Excel sheet. I will help you.

The service sector is one challenging industry to satisfy employees. Good selection of projects. Please go to the company and observe what is going on, how the workers behave, and what they are expecting. If you manage to find the essence of what the employees expect, then your project is almost over. However, one thing to note - don't always focus your project on monetary matters. That's not the only aspect of HR; find out what else can satisfy them. It could be transportation, group meetings, or knowledge sharing.
