Provident Fund Account Number Change: Will This Impact Permanent Workers' Benefits or Job Security?

rajeshdp
My company enforced a change to our Provident Fund account numbers for several permanent workers currently in service. I would like to know if this will affect any permanent workers' benefits or if it will have any implications for service termination according to government rules. Please reply to me immediately as this is a critical issue concerning the workers' livelihood. Thank you; I am eagerly waiting for a response.

The employer cannot do so. It may happen that the employer might have put all the employees under a different establishment with a different establishment code of EPF. As far as employees are concerned, they will not lose any service continuity provided they give Form 13 through the employer, by which the amount to their credit in their old account will be transferred to the new one. Initiate filing Form 13 for employees.
