Struggling with Unpaid Gratuity: What Can I Do If the Collector Doesn't Help?

My previous employer has not paid gratuity to me even though the controlling authority under the Gratuity Act has issued an order in my favor and has directed the employer to pay the same.

I have applied in Form T for the recovery of gratuity by the collector. I feel that this also will not work in my favor, and it is not practically possible to make a follow-up with the collector in New Delhi because I was working in Mumbai, and even now, I am based in Mumbai working with some other employer.

What is the remedy if the collector does not recover my amount or delays the recovery process? The Mumbai branch of the employer is no longer in existence.

It is to be recovered by labor authorities and it will be recovered through the collector. You write a letter to the controlling authority and continue sending reminders.
