Hi Arpita,
You may putforth these points below:
** say about your previous co and role
** What excited u to join the orgn
** About ur family (few details)
** Any interseting moments in your recruitment cycle (to link co 'best practise')
** Be plain ( mention blatant that we except so-n-so as challenges / oppurtuinity and u dnt see any chance of improvemnt unless a support extended from all)
In short, I suggest u shd to true to self in communcatiing to ur team and accept the waythings are... and u are not there to make any 'changes' but to facilitate...

Hi Arpita:
My greetings and goodwishes on your new assignment. I spell out some of the points you may have to deal with as under:
1) I am very happy to join this great Organization where I have an opportunity to work with you all.
2) My objective in joining this Organization is to help you all flower and have a full bloom in your career.
3) Human resource is the most important asset of any organization. The Management here too recognizes that.
4) I have come with very many good ideas. But, more importantly I will like to first meet with every one of you and listen to you to know your ideas, goals and aspirations.
5) In the next few weeks I will meet every one of you.
6) Also, my doors are always open to everyone of you to meet me anytime.
7) I am quite confident that together we can build this Company as well as build your career.
Along these lines you can develop further to the extent required.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you all for your wonderful replies... Just wanted to share with u.. I tried to shed my inhibitions and started preparing for my speech.. It surprised me that i am actually not as bad as i thought i am.. its just that i lack self-confidence... But while preparing my speech i felt there was a gap somewhere. and u guys just filled that gap on time.
thanks a ton for ur precious inputs. i'll surely incorporate them in my speech and will get back to u on how it went :)

Hi ....

Tis is Rajesh.G pursuing my Final Yr MBA (H.R) @ AnnaUniversity, Coimbatore. Well i am not an H.R yet i would like to share sum thing about how could u mould Ur speech.

To start with as an audience...ie., an employee of the organization will expect a lot when u are about to speak for t first time.

1. it would be better if u start with some of the excellent quotes of swami Vivekananda..

2. Get down to their level while u do deliver ur speech...Humor would obviously fetch a credit to your speech.

3. Give ur speech more practical, do quote some real time examples, so that they would perceive that u do provide an open culture to everyone...and practical in actions.

4. Regarding the Lack of confidence as u have mentioned, it would prove worthy if u do TALK IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR......u could correct t mistakes u do commit..

Altogether its all about how u create Good impression not just in terms of speech but also thro the non verbal communication and t way u just be more practical in it ......All the best....

Regards

Arpita,
Apart from your background etc...employee's would like to know how important you are for them ? How you are going to change their life ? They will come in with expectation's...ensure some time for a Q & A session at the end so that if their are any question's for you to answer. This will help to build better relationship with them.

Hi Arpita ,
People are always excited / willing to know what type of person you are and what would u be doing for them (in ne wrong ). What u have done is past is all a story for them .
So just tell ur qualification and exp (names of co. u worked , ur profile and 2 lines about ur achievement ) , and then u can tell them Y did u opt to join ur org (present one ) . tell few facts and figures .
u r an HR person be very very open and show that u r very jolly natured but u have to keep in mind that people should not take u for granted .
yaar dekh straight funda , try to be what people expect u to be and that differs fro company to company .
Chal all the best

3. Use simply and clear language.
4. Go through company profile, business goals.

One final point, keep it SHORT. If you are nervous, you will not want to speak for too long anyway. You will win points with your co-workers by keeping your speech, short, to the point and staying on message. Advise that you are happy to discuss any points in more detail on a one to one basis which also helps you get to know your new colleagues on a more personal basis. Good luck tomorrow with your speech.
