Understanding Employee Commitment vs. Engagement: Can You Share Insights and Resources?

r.shruthi1
Hi,

I would like to know whether employee commitment and employee engagement are the same. I am doing my research on employee commitment. Can you please help me with an appropriate questionnaire and a few articles regarding employee engagement that will be useful for my studies?

Thank you.

My sincere advice is that this is not an HR issue. You are playing with words. Words do not create wealth or add value.

This is related to the English dictionary and how you perceive and use these words.

Both are relevant in HR terms. It depends on whether one can understand these words and their relation to HR fields.

Employee Commitment refers to commitment at work and an individual's dedication to upholding the roles and responsibilities as an employee of the company. There is a list of expectations associated with this commitment, which also holds legal relevance.

On the other hand, Employee Engagement involves the activities that HR is engaged in. This could include conducting a PQ analysis on employees critical to the business, running engagement programs to retain high performers, or implementing engagement strategies to enhance employee productivity.
