I do agree that in the appointment letter if you can add the point of privacy that will bind the same. The same same you can incorporate in your code of business ethics and have all employee sing the same every 6 months.

We can also insist to employees to sign an NDA. See the attached NDA, it can be changed as per the nature of business and accordingly can be signed by the employees. You may use it; if found useful.
