Flexible Weekly Offs: What Are the Pros and Cons of Swapping Workdays for Leave?

Our company is looking to implement a policy that will allow employees to adjust their weekly off in exchange for leave taken on working days. I am interested in understanding the potential benefits of this policy as well as any potential misuse by colleagues based on your experiences.

You can use a staggering weekly off system instead. This will allow your company to operate 365 days a year, working like a continuous process industry without any break. People may ask for leave or a weekly off any day and subsequently be compensated for working on their weekly off.

Correct your word: Swapping of a working day; this is not an HR term.

- Look at weekly minimum working hours and making it up on the weekends if required.
- Look at offs to be taken within 2 days of weekdays or holiday working.
