This is in relation to the Health and safety policies and a programme on ND TV yesterday night.
Can a company deny to a candidate to recruit if found HIV+ or suffering from any specific disease? Yesterday on NDTV, this was shown to protect the interest of HIV+ patients and HR personnels were not in a position to respond it professionally.
Can the following steps be taken before the finalization of a candidate?
1. Details of chronic diseases.
2. Doctor’s prescription and advises to the patient.
3. Supporting medical reports.
4. Latest Body check up- A prescribed format from the company.
If the disease examined as non infectious disease and cured by the regular medical treatment; issues may be delt as per the requirement of Job responsibilities and expectation.
If the Job requires lot of sittings; then BP and Diabetic patients shall only be offered a job after the Doctors Advice to the patient.
If the job requires lot of travelling, BP and Diabetic patients may be ignored.
The second issue is to deal with the emergency situation caused due to the Sting Operations from the news channels or the sudden legal inspections.
We think that all above shall be discussed and to have some conclusions.
