Curious About Management Satisfaction Surveys? Has Anyone Tried Them in Their Organization?

Nainz
Dear All,

I like the employee satisfaction survey. Are there any Management Satisfaction surveys as well? Can anyone please guide me on it? Has anyone tried it in their organization?

Looking forward to the guidance and positive responses.

Hi Sunaina,

As far as I know, there is nothing called "Management Satisfaction Survey." (If there is, please let me know.) The questions included in the Employee Satisfaction Survey could be included in the Management Satisfaction Survey.

Hi!

It is meant to be for the management only, let's say only for managers and above.

Hi friends,

That's where the 360-degree feedback will be useful. You could use it as a tool for assessing the effectiveness of the management team. However, the results will be limited to the operational team.

Remember, you cannot overlook stakeholders' interests. 😉

Dear Rekha,

We already have the 360-degree appraisal in place, but is there anything known as M-Sat as well? I could not find anything relating to it on Google.

Dear Sunaina,

If Management is referring to a certain set of people, especially at the senior level, in my opinion, this could be included as part of the Employee Satisfaction Survey itself. During the analysis of the survey, one could examine the trends shown in their feedback.

Otherwise, there is no separate entity like M-Sat.

Sunaina, for multi-department employee satisfaction/climate surveys, all levels of management are included as respondents. The results are then aggregated by department, by seniority, by role, etc etc. Managers are employees and are as much a part of the culture/climate as any other employee.
The purpose of 360 degree surveys is entirely different from a satisfaction/climate survey, and so it is best not to confuse the two. Satisfaction/climate surveys are used to find out what the org climate is like and the drivers for a good climate. They are not specific to any particular individual. On the other hand, 360 degree surveys are specific to a particular individual and give feedback on how an individual's behavior is perceived by others.

Dear Anju/Vicky,

Thank you very much for your inputs! I think you have got my grey cells ticking, and at times I feel... common sense is not so common.

Hi all,

I am not an employee of any organization; I am a student of MBA HR. I don't know whether this can work. If a questionnaire is formed, list only the rewards and benefits given to the managers with options like 1. Excellent, 2. Satisfactory, 3. Unsatisfactory. Also, provide a space for them to write their comments on how to improve the satisfaction of the managers. I believe the above can help in the Management Satisfaction Survey.

Hi Sunaina,

What do you mean by management satisfaction survey? Who is management? The managers, or senior managers, or general managers, or the vice-presidents, or the managing director, or the directors on the board? What is management satisfaction? Is it satisfaction about their department employees' performance, their own salaries and benefits, the profits, the customers, or the food in their special mess/canteen in the office/factory? What is it? Keep your query clear. I will then answer you.

Jeeva.

Dear Jeeva,

My query is very simple - keeping the executives and managers separate, and then designing and assessing the satisfaction level across.

The requirements for a satisfying and enriching role are different for an executive and a manager. Keeping these points in mind, please let me know.

Sunaina
