Transitions in HR from 2008 to Now
The above topic (since the year of this post, i.e., 2008 till now) has seen many transitions in the HR fraternity. Basically, in my personal opinion, all non-core activities (activities directly contributing to profits) are generally considered and provided by the "support functions," i.e., administration, till now.
For many years, every company has been undergoing process improvements, optimizations, elimination of non-value-added activities, and now, due to the pandemic, high-end optimization initiatives have replaced "verticalization" in companies.
The Rise of IFM
Throughout my career, I have witnessed various internal workshops, cross-plant HR meets, and now we have a new concept - IFM! Now, most companies, as a cost-effective measure, have started seeking assistance from professional consultants to complete their internal projects - IFM project.
