Competency Mapping for 150 Roles: Can You Share Your Process and Best Practices?

We are embarking upon a competency mapping exercise in our organization for about 150 roles across various functions. If any of the forum members have taken up the exercise in their organization at a similar scale, we would request you to kindly share the process steps for the same, along with any literature on the best practices of competency mapping.

Dear All,

I'm also sailing in the same boat! I formatted the task description table and sent a document to all departments, asking each one of them to define their role. They filled it out and sent it back. This gave me insight into the functions of each department that I was not aware of or that were not within my scope. However, there were duplications of work within the departments. I then sorted out primary and secondary responsibilities. I consolidated the reports and based on this, I listed their activities and created a flow chart. Start, and you will surely find a way out.
