Dear Prashant,
The recession period is very crucial for companies to function. The role of HR is predominant in these days to regulate staffing, personnel management, administration, and retention of employees, etc. It should be our endeavor that human resources should not be wasted even for an hour of our precious time. Employee utility needs to be taken care of. Alternative work items and jobs for the improvement of the firm have to be identified to further the company. Employee confidence in job security needs to be maintained. As far as possible, the HR division should not resort to actions like retrenchments or weeding out employees; instead, they should create job opportunities by developing the firm's potential and exploring real possibilities for expanding departmental wings, divisions, branches, outlets, etc., to overcome the situation arising from the recession. Sometimes, a recession can be a boon if utilized in a way that suits the needs of companies, environmental circumstances, and management aspirations. Recession should be taken as a challenge by the HR division to regulate the day-to-day functions of the company qualitatively and quantitatively.
