Understanding Notice Pay: What Salary Components Apply for Port Trust Employees in India?

I request valuable guidance from all of you for the following: What is the definition of salary for the purpose of payment of notice pay for an employee leaving the services of a Major Port in India? Which components of salary are payable on separation?

Salary means Basic Salary plus Dearness Allowance only. This is the pay that the employee should pay to the employer for getting relieved. The same amount will be the one to be offered by the employer to retrench him.
