Labour Licens Regarding - Pdf Download

Hi
I have seen many advertisement where prinipal employer ask for labour licences before work order/tender .My confusion is when principal employer not issued Form No (v) then how it is possible for a contractor to take same licences .Or any other licences is there .Please clarify.

As far as in know contractor has to get his licence done when he is engaging 20 or more worker for the work against workorder....

you are correct no contrractor can get labour licence with out registration under shop and establishment act .however he can register under shop and establishment act and take code of ESI and Pf.

Friends,
Without Registration of Principal Employer, and without his issuing form V to the person engaged as contractor, a licence cannot be issued to a contractor. You may note that in Form IV (application for licence), the number & date of Certificate of Registration of the establishment under the Act has to be mentioned n column 3(c). Licence under Contract Labour Act, does not depend on the registration under Shops Act, ESI Act and PF Act etc.
