Insights on Background Verification and Salary Disclosure in Employee Verification Process

I have a doubt about employee verification. While conducting employee verification in the previous organization, will they ask about the salary details? If salary details are requested during verification, does the HR of the previous organization have the right to disclose the salary of another person (a previous employee) without their knowledge? I would appreciate all of your suggestions on this matter.

I don't think that anybody would answer such a call.

i.e. anybody wouldn't disclose someone's salary!

The HR might disclose when he/she gets an email from the organization or from the vendor during reference check, and it differs from case to case. In my experience, I have come across two cases during reference checks where the employee prepared a forged document on salary details.
