Confused About Missing Form 16 and PF Details? Seeking Advice on Next Steps

anjali_tds
Hello!

Good morning. This is Anj, and I am working as a software engineer in a company. I am a permanent employee, but there has been no salary deduction, and I am taking home 30,000. My annual gross salary is 372,000. They have not provided me with a PF account number, and there are no Form 16 details available.

Every day, I am approaching my HR, but there has been no action taken yet. I don't know if this is really necessary. In the future, if I move to another company, they might not consider me a genuine employee, right?

Please provide me with some suggestions on how to proceed and apply for Form 16 and TDS, etc.

I am looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,
Anj

Dear,

Form 16 is a mandatory requirement that every employer has to fulfill. This means that you have the right to ask your employer to provide it. Otherwise, you will not be able to apply for a loan anywhere and for any purpose.

Form 16 and Provident Fund (PF) Clarification

Form 16, you have already received the answer from a fellow participant in this forum.

Provident Fund (PF) Considerations

Regarding PF, above a certain ceiling amount, PF is non-mandatory. As most private firms follow the cost-to-company (CTC) model, whether you have PF or not is not going to have any financial impact on you.

Savings Recommendation

From a savings perspective, I would recommend opening a PPF Account. You can approach any Scheduled Bank or Post Office to do so.
