Facing Layoffs: How Do I Deliver Pink Slips with Empathy and Professionalism?

Hi members,

As you are all aware of the current market scenario and subsequent consequences regarding handing over a "Pink slip" or laying off employees, this has become a general trend.

Unfortunately, my organization also intends to do the same. So, I am required to hand over a couple of "Pink slips." If any of you can please provide me with the format.

Hi,

It seems that you are also influenced by the fancy words of the US. Don't think they are pink in color or that they will be given a relieving letter in pink roses. It's the same old-fashioned termination letter any organization would give their employees when they want to let them go.

I hope your organization must have a regular format for the termination letter; use that with a covering letter explaining the reasons and the company's situation for letting employees go. Just don't forget to show some empathy towards the employee in the covering letter so that he/she does not feel like being kicked out of the office, safeguarding the self-respect of your employee even while asking him to leave.

Also, please don't use the word "termination" unless the layoff is due to integrity issues!! Instead, use the words "relieving letter/order."
