Termination - Background Check Failure

krithikab
Hi, When an employee fails his/her background check on qualifications or work experience, his/her employment is terminated with immediate effect in the eventuality of the employee not being able to prove the same otherwise. I have seen a couple of companies asking the employee to resign and giving him/her the opportunity of employing him/her self elsewhere. The employee is provided with a relieving letter though he/she is not eligible for FFS related formalities. This is done on humanitarian grounds. How is it done in other companies, IT or otherwise (in your own field)? I am interested in understanding this. Your inputs will be valuable. Regards.

If any employee fails in referral report he is likely to be terminated. This is because, by giving false statements in application for employment and joining reports he has cheated the employer. This can be interpreted as mis representation of material facts which is punishable following Criminal Procedure Code also. In Govt departments the same will be viewed very seriously. If any employer has not taken the matter so seriously, it is due to their lenient attitude only. If I am asked to assess such situation, I must say that I will immediately dismiss him and I will not ask for his resignation. By giving false statements about qualification and experience he has not only cheated the company but has confiscated the opportunity of the right candidate. That is not a tolerable offence. Madhu, i came across an organization which is one of the top 2 IT company in india. The HR manager fired 12 employees within 3 years just coz of failure in background check. But, later the management found he himself lied by showing non existing organisation in his resume. What you will say about this? To be honest, LITTLE THEIVES ARE HANGED BUT THE GREAT ONE ESCAPE..These background checks are just for time pass. I say every company must enforce a new policy that people who are doing back ground check, they must be put in crucial check before they start working..!! Jai Hind.:icon10:
