Exploring LLB Courses: Evening College Options and UGC Recognition

mravimtnl
Dear All,

I completed my MBA in HR and am currently involved in handling IR activities in a PSU. I am interested in pursuing Law at an evening college in Mumbai. The college should be approved by both the Bar Association and UGC. However, I am struggling to find such a college in Mumbai. Could you please inform me if there is any UGC-recognized college in Mumbai offering LLB/BL degrees as an evening course?

Regards,
Ravi

Dear Mr. Ravi,

As per the Bar Council guidelines, there shall be no Evening Law College. Only day scholar law graduates are allowed to enroll as an Advocate. If you want to acquire a Law Qualification for academic or purposes other than Law practice, you can study through correspondence (BGL @ Annamalai University).

Dear Sir,

I want to know whether the correspondence course of Annamalai University is UGC recognized or not because our company only recognizes UGC recognized courses.

Ravi

Dear Ravi,

The lecture timing at VPM Law College would be from 2 pm to 5 pm. Although 75% attendance is mandatory, the college is not very strict on the attendance policy. You can always visit [Vidya Prasarak Mandal - vpmthane.com](http://www.vpmthane.org) for detailed information on LLB.

Thank you.

Hi,

As pointed out in earlier replies, there cannot be any evening law college as per the BAR COUNCIL of India Guidelines. The only exception is one or two colleges in Delhi. Therefore, your dream of pursuing a Law Course will not become a reality unless you are a Delhiite. What about BGL offered by some universities through correspondence? You will receive the degree and knowledge, but you cannot practice in a Court of Law. For enrollment in the BAR COUNCIL or BAR ASSOCIATION, a Law degree awarded in the regular course of study is a prerequisite. If you want to use legal studies for discharging your duties, that is acceptable, but for practicing, the correspondence degree in law is not useful.

Sir, I am in Agra and I want to enroll in an L.L.B. course. Please tell me about evening classes in Agra or correspondence courses for LLB because I am a government employee and cannot join morning classes.
