If theft has been proved beyond any doubt, dismissal can be awarded. But before dismissing, it is better to give him a chance of being heard in person. Therefore, I suggest you conduct a disciplinary inquiry after serving him a charge sheet. Otherwise, your dismissal order may bounce back.
