Need Help with Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Act: How Many Leaves Are Allowed?

Dear All,

I am writing a policy on leave for one of my clients based in Chennai. Could anyone help me out with the Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Act regarding leaves? I would like to know how many casual leaves, sick leaves, and privilege leaves are allocated according to the Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments Act.

CL-12 is available to employees from the date of joining. SL-12 is also available to employees from the date of joining. PL-12 is as per company policy.

Casual Leave – 12 days in a year

Sick Leave - 12 days in a year

Earned Leave - 21 days after completion of one year or 1 day for every 20 working days

Maternity Leave: Women employees with a minimum of 3 months of service can avail 12 weeks, which can be extended by 6 weeks in case of serious illness.

I would like to know the calculation of earned leave as per the Shop & Establishment Act in Tamil Nadu and the minimum number of earned leave a company should provide.
