Hi, I have experience in HR recruitment, and my husband is planning to relocate to Singapore. I am really confused because if I go with him, then I have to forget about my career. So, I want advice on whether I will get a job in Singapore.
I have Australian nationality and can immigrate to Canada without considering the cost at this stage because I am eligible to migrate and work in Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. However, I am interested in working in some third-world countries and spending some time on a remote island due to the 40% tax on earnings in these countries.
If that is the case, then don't waste time, go for it. Otherwise, my suggestion would be to earn enough money and then move to the place of your choice, work there, and even if you don't get work for some time, through your savings, you can survive. Furthermore, even if you don't find work, then consider becoming a businessman, open your firm, become an entrepreneur, and create job opportunities for others.
Thank you for your valuable suggestion. I have decided to set aside my idea for the time being as the world economy is currently in a downturn. Particularly, the third world is now a more dangerous place to live and earn a livelihood.
This is a time for survival with bare minimum earnings to sustain us. We must manage with whatever resources we have. Let's hope that things improve in the coming year. We can revisit and discuss this plan then.
Regards,
Rashid
