Curious About 540-Degree Appraisal: Does It Exist and Is It Better Than 360-Degree?

I came across the term "540-degree appraisal" some days back. As far as I know, the advanced tool for appraisal is the 360-degree method. I don't know much about this new one. Can anyone provide insights into this tool? I would like to understand whether such a tool exists and what other tools are more effective than the 360-degree approach.

Hi, I don't know if anyone else has given any opinion on this issue. There is this new system of performance appraisal feedback called 540 degrees. It is very similar to 360 degrees; however, it goes a step further by including feedback from customers and suppliers. This system also takes into account the distinction between internal and external customers.

Kindly let me know if there is more to this.

Hi Ram,

Even I was trying to find information about 720-degree appraisal last year and drew a blank! 😄 Two weeks ago, I attended the workshop by TVRLS and had the privilege to interact with Dr. T V Rao. In the forum, I had asked this question about 720 degrees, and he said it is just a fad. According to him, the 360-degree appraisal is a good enough tool as of today.

If you keep on thinking like this, soon there will be a day when you will ask for 720, 1440 degrees, 2880 degrees, and so on. 360 degrees will always do, sir.
