Hiring Nepali Citizens in India: What Legal Steps Should We Follow?

Dear Folks,

We are a software company and have some Nepali citizens working with us as Software Programmers. Kindly shed some light on the rules and regulations that need to be followed by a company if we have hired Nepali citizens. Do they need a work permit or anything else? Requesting an urgent response.

Hi,

No work permit and visa are required for Nepalese citizens to work and live in India. I confirmed this information with the Nepalese embassy, and according to the 1950 treaty between Nepal and India, a work permit is not required.
