Struggling to Track My PF Claim: How Do I Find My Establishment Code and Verify Submission?

arun1981
Hello,

My name is Arun Nayak. I applied for a PF Claim in March 2008. I filled out all the necessary forms provided by my previous employer and submitted them. However, as of October 2008, I have not received any claims. How can I verify if my form was submitted to the PF Office by my previous employer? I have tried checking the status online on the EPFO website, but it requires an establishment code. Where can I find this code?

On my salary slip, I have the following details: PF No. 1709 and Employee No. BT0003, but no establishment code is mentioned. Do I need to obtain the establishment code from my previous employer? Also, what does "BT" stand for?

I hope you can assist me with this issue.

Thank you.

Employee No. is not related to Provident Fund. "BT" may be an abbreviated form used by your employer.

Provident fund account numbers start with a Regional code/sub-regional code (for example, in Kerala, it is "KR," and for an establishment under the sub-regional office of EPFO, Kannur, it is "KR/KNR"), followed by an establishment code and an account number (which is allotted to the respective employee).

There is a provision on the EPFO website to find the establishment code by entering the establishment name in the respective field. However, it may be more practical if you could visit the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation's office where your previous employer used to file the returns and inquire about the status of the claim. Please try that.
