Curious About Promotion Assessment Centres? What to Expect and How to Prepare

I would appreciate if anyone could give me some information on 'Assessment Centres' that are conducted for promotion purposes. Answers that I am looking for are: What happens in an Assessment Centre? What kind of situations are you put through? How does one prepare for it?

Also, can you suggest if there are any good books on this topic?

Hi,

An assessment center is nothing but an analysis of an individual's capability to perform at the next level. During the assessment, they will evaluate your spontaneous thinking, leadership qualities, communication skills, presentation abilities, and how effectively you can lead a team, including team motivation. This is done through various soft skills training sessions, along with exercises provided both before and after the assessment to gauge improvement and the knowledge acquired in a short period.

I hope this helps provide a general idea of what to expect at an assessment center.
