Things I can display on the notice board to make it attractive?

Hi Seniors,

I work for a Domestic BPO industry (Non-voice). Here, my senior officials have asked me to display the HR notice board, and every day some information should be posted. Now, I am blank on what all things I can display on the notice board to make it attractive. I have come up with these points, but I need your suggestions as well. Please share.

1. Thought of the day
2. Birthday celebrations for the month

What else can I display? Your views are urgently needed.

3. Wallpapers for every occasion

You can even put stories on every topic like leadership, team building, etc. Since it is a BPO, I suggest you to put some health-related stuff to keep them off from stress. Also, you can display the latest happenings in the BPO field, etc.

Dear Narinder,

You may display the following based on the priority given below:

1. Rules related to Labour Welfare/Shop & Establishment
2. List of holidays, work hours, etc.
3. Employee Ethics
4. Company Policy on quality, Production...blab..blab
5. Welcome New joiners (Name, Post, Dept)
6. Birthday wishes
7. Farewell party (name, Post, Dept)

Allot 1/4th of the board to items 5, 6 & 7. If required, add a small board for display.

You can probably add a small corner to share humorous anecdotes/jokes, etc. This will keep the staff reading it in a light mood and help to de-stress and relax. You can get people to contribute their own ideas or suggestions so that they also feel a part of this. I am sure they would feel nice to have their name on the notice board. Perhaps you can highlight some success stories/achievements on the notice board. This will be quite motivating as well.

You can reserve one corner of the board for employee articles, collect contributions, and post the best ones every week on the notice board. This would make the notice board a happening place.

You could populate your noticeboard with the following:

1. Thought for the day.
2. Joke or humor for the day or week.
3. Training schedule, if any, for the quarter, half-yearly, or yearly.
4. Fancy birthday list of employees for the month.
5. Stick photographs on a chart relating to any training activity, get-together, company bash, or for that matter any occasion wherein the employees will be happy to see their photographs on the notice-board.
6. Any satisfactory or appreciative report given by the client on the team's performance.
7. Activity (Entertainment) Plan for the quarter or annually.
8. Location/Structural Plan of the office with detailed cubicles.

Hi,

Have you ever participated in "House activities" when you were in school? If not, you must have noticed the House Board filled with posters, quotes, Thought of the day, jokes, pictures, and paintings by schoolmates, etc. Here is your answer. Just imagine those things where you feel special as an employee and add more.

Very impressive list indeed. Contributions to the list from my side:

1. Achievements of the family members of employees, especially children. Any meritorious achievements.

2. Signature corner: Keep a poster of, for example, the birthday celebrant or the daughter of an employee who got admitted to IIT, and invite employees to offer compliments. Then, forward the poster to the concerned family member.

3. Share case studies of unsafe acts to educate on safety.

4. If the organization subscribes to principles like SA-8000, display important aspects such as being an equal opportunity employer and standing against all forms of discrimination.

5. Prohibition of child labor in all forms, etc.

I have a few ideas:

- Puzzle could be a good idea.
- Some sequential story through which they desire and think for further one (like Serials directed by Kavita Kapoor).
- Achievement/Newsletter, etc.
- You can ask for things from employees - if they have good paintings, drawings, champ certificates, poems, stories, etc. (because every person has an artist hidden within) - truly, it gives tremendous feedback.

You can do a lot of things in it. You can even ask any employee to contribute to it. You can include the best employees on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Additionally, you can add moral stories that boost employees to work more effectively and efficiently. As you mentioned, the birthday list and thought of the day are common. You can include some games like "think big" by giving a statement and asking employees to respond with one word. So, start your creativity, dude.

Hi, with all that, you can also add a list of the employees who are working in your organization, along with their designations. This will help the employees to know the names of the persons in the organization. Additionally, you can display the names of absentees on the board to inform others about the absence from work.

You may have a "Welcome Message" with the names of the new joiners that would make them feel important at the very first instance. You may also display the addresses of houses vacant in nearby areas that would really help the new joiners.

The board should not look cluttered with so many things, otherwise, the required attention will be lost. I suggest the following may be considered:

You can also display the ideas of your employees working in another department: birthday wishes, some motivational stories, and quotes that provide entertainment as well as a message.

The ideas pouring in from everyone are highly humorous and have made me think of the following:

1) List of eligible bachelor employees
2) News Headlines for the day
3) Today's Menu at the pantry
4) Real estate brokerage in the neighborhood
5) Lovers' gossips of the week
6) Jokes, drawings, kids' artwork, wedding bells, etc.
7) New Film releases in the nearby theaters
8) Cookery Recipes
9) Festival purchases and freebies

I believe there should be an in-house magazine where all non-HR matters can be addressed. It's important to remember that the HR notice board is intended solely for HR-related bulletins and data concerning labor laws, acts, holidays, ESI dispensaries list, employee blood group list, company policies, ethics, etc.

If all the entertainment content is displayed, it may lead to a lack of interest in the board. Even if people do look, it could cause crowding in front of the display box and potentially reduce productivity, impacting HR's initiatives.
