Can Our Company Legally Authenticate an Employee's Address Without Verification?

Good evening all seniors and juniors,

One of my employees is asking for authentication of his address proof on our company's letterhead. Please guide me on whether the company is authorized to authenticate his address or not. We don't have his police verification or any other genuine proof with us.

How long has he been employed in your company? It's okay to issue an address proof. Please cross-check with him the purpose of the same document, and then I don't see any issue in giving him the address proof.

You can issue an address proof on your letterhead by mentioning "as per office record." You are not authenticating; you are providing his address as per the record.

Hi Pulsar,

Please provide him with an address proof stating, "As per company records, Mr.____, Ecode:_____, is currently residing at the following address:_______". This should be sufficient.
