Hi all,

Please help me out with your valuable response to the attached survey questionnaire. This is part of the project on the current roles of HR professionals and their expectations regarding HR roles for the part-time MHRDM program I am currently pursuing.

I appreciate your hard work in drafting this questionnaire. I found this interesting and am looking forward to the practical use of your efforts.

What is the practical utility of this tool that you have developed? How will this bring change or improvement in the HR role in any organization? What is the ultimate end result?

Yours friendly,
Sawant

The survey is aimed at ascertaining the gap between CURRENT ROLES of HR professionals and their expectations in their roles. Parallely, I am also conducting a survey on non-HR professionals' perception of HR roles.

This will serve as input to all HR professionals as to whether we are moving in the appropriate direction. Are HR professionals viewed as strategic partners? If not, what course corrections are required to bring about value to the role of an HR professional.

Dear George,

Thank you for sharing the good format. One thing I don't understand is what you said about this serving as input to determine if we are moving in the right direction. However, I would like to point out that as an HR professional in a company, if I were asked to fill it out, I would naturally fill it in favor of myself. In that case, it would not serve any real purpose. To truly assess if an HR professional is moving in the right direction, the survey should be evaluated by someone from another department, not by an HR colleague.

Thank you.

Dear Jacob,

Please find herewith my views as stated in the questionnaire.

Hi Maheshbhai and Rameshbala,

Maheshbhai, thank you very much for your valuable response. I shall forward you the analysis of the findings once I complete the survey, if you so desire. My ID is

Rameshbala, you have said it correctly. Ideally, the target for the survey should be non-HR professionals. I am carrying out the survey in two parts.

The first part relates to HR professionals' perception of their current roles and their expectations in their roles. The questionnaire posted relates to that. It does matter whether what they are currently performing meets their expectations. In other words, what is the extent to which they have control over their roles?

The second part, which is also being undertaken concurrently using another set of questionnaires, pertains to the perception of non-HR personnel on HR roles.

I believe responses to these two surveys will enable me to ascertain the degree to which HR professionals are viewed as strategic partners in business.

Rameshbala, I would appreciate your valuable response toward this cause.
