Basically, for a company like GAIL, you should have a good knowledge of laws related to HR such as the Factory Act, labor laws, Industrial Dispute Act, industrial relations, acts and laws related to hiring, compensation, provident fund, and other benefits. It is also important to stay updated on the latest amendments to these laws and legislations as questions may be asked from all these areas.

Some good books on Industrial Relations are:
"Industrial Relations and Law" by P.K. Malik
Another one is by H.L. Kumar.
You can easily find them in all the major bookstores across the country.
