Is the Minimum Employee Requirement for PF Applicability Now 10 Instead of 20?

I need to know if the minimum number of employees required for compulsory PF applicability in the organization has changed to 10 from 20.

Dear,

This proposal was passed in a meeting with the trustees of PF, and the amendment has not been made yet. So, currently, the limit remains at 20 only.

Please let me know if the applicability of PF for an organization is solely dependent on the number of employees or the number of employees who are earning more than a certain basic salary.

Hi,

PF applicability is solely dependent on the number of employees and not on any salary limits. Employees whose basic salary is more than Rs. 65,00/- can opt out of PF after complying with certain formalities.

Hi, Mr. Khyati,

As per the PF Act, the limit is 20. However, in case employees in your company need to register under the PF Act voluntarily, they will be eligible as per Voluntary PF U/s 1(4).
