I am an HR student currently conducting research on the 5S policy. I need more recent details and information about its origin in detail. Can anyone help me in this regard?

The first company I joined as a Management Trainee had a 5S policy, but nobody could explain what it really meant. All we had to do was clean up our desks and cabinets every Saturday.
