Hi,

I am facing a strange problem. My boss stays in the Corporate office in Delhi, and I work in a BPO Centre based in Pune. She had created a pseudo boss in my team. This girl doesn't have any authority to act like a boss, and she is too junior compared to my total experience. However, she has spent 2 years in this company, so she has a good hold over most of the departments. This girl is very manipulative and has made my boss dance to her tune. She is constantly trying to damage my image before my boss, and she is so jealous of me that she never lets me get training since the day I joined, so that I get kicked out on performance issues. I have still managed to build my image to some extent by coming up with new ideas and implementations. I have received several written appreciations from other departments. Now she has convinced my boss to keep me away from the areas of my expertise. Due to the current business downturn, my name has been forwarded for redeployment/benching, as advised by her.

I escalated this issue to my skip. Now they have started trapping me in weekly status calls to demoralize me. My skip suggested me to move to the Corporate Office, but there is no guarantee they will put me in the same HR profile. Also, my movement can only be made once a position is created, so they are unable to move me somewhere now. Most of the tasks I had been doing have been delegated to my juniors, and my junior's tasks have been aligned to me. This is being done to humiliate me, which has demotivated me to a large extent. I have observed my team members bitching against me to my boss on the mobile. There is a girl who sarcastically asks whether I am getting calls from any consultants or not. I am unable to concentrate on work, and I interact quite less with people, which is affecting my performance.

My concern is how to deal with a team where my teammates conspire against me. My boss understands everything but pretends not to know. She wants to keep her tenured employees happy, who are jealous of me. There is favoritism in this team. Somehow, I also feel that she is also a part of all this. Still, she says that I should come forward and tell her my concerns. I can't show her the mirror as she is not fair. There were a few similar cases where an employee raised grievances straightforwardly and they were mistreated and compelled to leave. Please advise me on what to do in this case. :-(

Dear Sir,

I would like to resign from my job with immediate effect. I have taken this decision to pursue another opportunity that would act as a catalyst in my career.

I would be serving a one-month notice starting tomorrow and would like to be relieved of my responsibilities by February 15, 2007. I would like to thank you for your support and insights that made my stint a great learning experience.

I am currently working on the following projects:

- Conducting market research for our proposed product -- slated to be completed by the end of this week.
- Studying the sales trends for the last six months and providing a report -- slated to be completed by February 8.

I would like to discuss the following when we meet:

- My pending bonus for the current financial year.
- Vacation time and its adjustment with the notice period.

I would like to recommend a few team members for my position and would be happy to train and support my replacement.

Please let me know of a convenient time to meet and discuss the same.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. XYZ
