Nothing is wrong with Ashma. Everyone is doing the same here. You may please post such materials, deleting the author's name. At least, we will benefit. One thing to note is that it is not necessary that every individual is complete in their field, and individual differences exist. Thanks for providing the links.

And what about the person who does all the hard work in thinking, brainstorming, and researching? Sharing information is not wrong, but what is the harm in keeping the name of the author or giving the link to the article rather than copying and deleting the name? It is like you do all the hard work, and your colleague gets the reward of the promotion, and your manager gives you an explanation, "What is the harm... everybody does so."

I think as netizens and members of this forum, we have to respect and follow certain general rules which protect copyrights. But I am sure you know that as you have been on this forum for a long time.

In that context, I think we could save this forum from being pulled down because somebody was lazy or careless enough to take a little trouble and credit the original author of the articles. I am sure he didn't claim those articles to be his own - so his intentions are good. Why let loose ends for someone else to pick them up and use them against this forum? We do want this forum to grow, don't we?

Would request Aashmanin to kindly repost the above if he wishes to.

Now, where has Ashma mentioned that they are the author of this article? Has Ashma tried to claim credit? It seems Ashma has posted this for our information. Why are you accusing them of seeking credit? I am truly confused.

How are you? Well, it is certain that Ashma has not asked for any credit. However, when you are using online portals or discussion groups, you need to give credit to the original author, even if you don't take credit. It's a matter of principle.

Can you tell me something? Suppose I am receiving an article from you or any other friends, and I am posting the same. It means the article's author is "you" or "my friend" who sent it to me. There is a chance that Ashma received this article from somebody and simply posted it. Why are we only looking at one side of the coin? We should try to convince Ashma that we should write the name of the author who has written the article. However, we should not criticize Ashma for such postings. My intention in writing this reply is to convey the message that we may simply disagree with you or anyone's statement, not resort to firing. Ashma may not be aware of this courtesy.

You know something, it doesn't mean that everybody is aware of what you know. We should try to convince others not to do the same in the future, rather than resorting to firing.

I see where the whole discussion is going. First things first, realize that nobody here is "targeting" Aashmanin, even though somehow he is becoming the prime focus. 😉

Well, if he didn't do it, someone else would - and in that case, one would happily point it out to that someone else. There is nothing to be confused about as it is not the person - it's the action that is in question.

So, the question of Aashmanin mooching off the credit is simply ruled out!

He conveniently forgot or didn't bother to check the net for sources before posting - he wanted to help! Funnily enough, the file contains around 3 articles under the PCMM (file name) and talks about two more different topics. I am sure he was giving Sanjeev's articles as a bonus or his friend who forwarded this file to him was. 😄

Again, I have given him a choice about if he wishes to repost it with the original author's name in it. If he doesn't, he can live with that. All we have to worry about is if the original author or the website/magazine it featured in has issues with that. Then again, it's really not anyone's problem, is it? It is Sidhartha's problem.

Lastly, I am with you when you point out that we are to convince him about not repeating this action in the future. I guess in your pursuit to do so, you may still find it useful to see the following link about the original research reports and the person who had them up there:
