Hi Manoj,

The Factories Act and HR are entirely two different components. The Factories Act is a very vast subject that cannot be dealt with in a day or two. This Act is available at all bookstores that sell legal books all over India. The Factories Act is a sort of regulatory measure instituted by the Government of India way back in 1948 to regulate working conditions, welfare, annual leave with wages, and, most importantly, the safety aspect of workmen working in an industry. You may please go through the Act to get a real idea of the Factories Act. I think it is also available online, and any of the members can further highlight this.

Pradeep, can you shed more light on the differences? Even I was thinking that HR should be knowledgeable about the Factories Act as it is closely related to HR.
