I appreciate your acknowledgement of the facts, my point of view is we grow by our experience and our indian corporate agenda is far from instutional eduication agenda. Branding of educational institution is not only intellectual bankruptcy but morale bankrutpcy too because intellectuals does not grow in institutes they emerge from the ordeal of time and circumstances.
Like Harward or other B-Schools indian B schoold never associated with Industries Associations or Chambers of Commerce from India for research and analysis except for placement of their students they have everything common only difference is your purchaising power determines the value for which place in India and institute you can afford education priceed by these institutes. And to be in business they have to adopt commercial gimmicks of branding no brand works in professional work life.
Take example of HR tools in practice worldwide- Business Process Reengineering, Job Evaluation by point factor, or defining the job families, career ladders, compensation analyst, pricing of jobs and market survey all these are grey areas of our Indian Corporate HR world, except their
peripheral adedamic debate nothing practically works in HR from these world class practices in India. Recently we evaluated consultants like Mckinsey & Co, Boston Consulting,Booz/Allen/Hamilton, and Aurther D Little for BPR project and price of project was finally fixed 1.4 Million USD.
For One Market Compensation Survey we evaluated WatsonWyatt, Hay Group, Mercer, Earnst & Young and project was awarded for 870,000 USD.
Could you believe this expenditure for Indian Conglomerate can afford these investments on such an important issues. the whole issues of HR in India is proof beyond any doubt justify that your knowledge base has any utility in Indian Corporate HR Practices because of price.
Now come to Branded B-Schools Business: :icon6:
What TISS or XLRI or IIT or IIM can do in HR and did in last 50 years?
Did they ever undertaken any project to invent something like Harward School or London of Economics and other western B Schools did?
Whether they possess knowhow to undertake such projects voluntarily?
Whether they are capable to execute such research and analysis work in their institutes?
What is their credibility except awarding certifications for having undergone some sort of education parallel to University Educations?
What else they offer except infrastructure just because of financial autonomy nothing literally differs in quality of education.
This branding is recognising inefficient and nonperforming institutions is nothing but business by corrupt morale and bankrupt minds who does not know what knowledge is all about and from where knowledge or knowhow emnated from.
I therefore sincerely advise that its always better to invest 100% more to get better education in the western university to better informed and become truely execute your knowledge at word stage. If you believe Indians HR is doing something never existed before is myth and only myth prevails in institutions/corporates/general understanding of employees and people at large.
XLRI has same knowledge what has been tought in the University for MBA in HR nothing else.
Rest of market modern HR pratices like competency mapping or psychometric test this model is fusion in HR by those who practically failure in their profession and being asked to Train the people as HR Manager become HR liability similarly Psychologist through other means have entered into HR but truly these profession has nothing to do with this core HR or strategic HR and therefore HR is total mess and misleading to most of new genration HR.
Its the ability of such institute how far they secceed to mislead the Indian Corporates and New Generatins in the name of HR interventions through various forums, seminars and conferances.
Its always better we should know what is our fundamental HR function or core HR business and activities first to become true professional even if true HR professionals do not survive in such adulterated gloomy scenario you will do 5 times better outside India.
Because world acknowledge the basic HR activities and core functions as primary requirements for any business.
My idea is think big picture and at wrold scale. What is important and we can justify in the market and worth in the market.
